Mistoffelees, was it like 'The Crazy Frog' in Britain? The other day, I was a little jealous of a friend who's back from travelling around the world and said to me:
"What the bloody hell is the Crazy Frog? Was it a pop-tune or something"
Not that I particularly hate it or anything, but it was "everywhere" and I still can't believe they had the audacity to mix it with 'Axel F'. I have another friend (honestly!) who called it to an "aural virus", and if this is also true of Schnappi, I've just realised how guilty I am of facilitating its spread. I E-mailed the links to four people after I experienced it and I can only pray they exercise greater wisdom and do not repeat my mistake. Posting here probably hasn't helped the situation either!
That typed, however, (IMHO) it is indeed a GREAT thing that a relatively Low-Fi, home-grown song can bite such a great chunk from the tails of the big fish. Also, I'll bet loads of young German toddlers got loads of dancing and chuckles out of this; so it can't be a bad thing, can it?
(Again, sorry all for my posts earlier. It's no excuse, but I'd had no sleep for far too long, and reading back over my many posts on Barbelith over that period, I feel ashamed and embarrassed, if not (I admit) a little amused at my "bad" behaviour. [Un]fortunately, I live and learn. Thanks for your patience.) |
