I'll be sure to stop by. Kady Mae would kill me if I didn't.

I'll be there! I thought for sure DC would have organized some kind of Seven Soliders panel or group signing, and I would have seen you there, but apparently not. I'll try to find you at your booth!

I went to Sandy Eggo back in 2001, and while I'm glad I went, it's not the kind of comic con I like. It's just too huge for me, and I always felt like I was missing something...and there were all kinds of people I was wanting to meet up with from message boards and e-mail groups and we rarely got a chance to even find each other.

Still, with Wizard buying conventions, are the medium sized conventions like the one in Minneapolis a dying breed?

I wish I was going, I've never been... Maybe next year.

Tom Spurgeon has a really good rundown of interesting panels and tips on how to survive the whole comicon ordeal.

hah!

GM has already made unnanounced appearances at previous CCIs.

but since the DCU and Vertigo panels have already taken place I don't think so for this year.

But isn't he being given free reign to recreate the DCU? Won't they announce that at something like this?

will wonders never cease: MSN.com has an article on their main page covering ComicCon. I guess it's because of all the big movies having panels (and stars) there...maybe ComicCon will become more mainstream now? Tenacious D played there too, apparently.

>> Best Performance by a Rock Duo: Tenacious D. Jack Black and Kyle Gass closed the convention Saturday evening with a set the lords of rock would definitely applaud. When Black found out visitors had paid $35 to get in (some just to see the "D"), they couldn't just perform $10 worth of songs. So instead of a 30-minute set, the "D" performed for almost an hour. The mini-concert featured songs from their new movie "Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny" such as "Dude, I Miss You" and old classics like "Wonderboy."

what was interesting about this article was that it wasn't 'geeks nerds and dorks abound' every other sentence. It was quite long (2 full pages) and treated it like a big Hollywood-esque event.

The HBO show Entourage just had a ComicCon episode (complete with Harry Knowles-inspired character) since the show's lead guy is up for a fictional Aquaman movie. ComicCon references all over pop/media culture this year for some reason...
