Picked this up at the weekend, Kordey's artwork is miles better than the rushed stuff he had to put out for new X-Men, there's little we haven't seen before, moodwise it's a mix of most of Warren Ellis's stuff and Alan Moore's 'V For Vendetta'. It won't win any awards but it's like comic comfort food.

Anyone else get it?

i loved it. the themes weren't exactly groundbreaking, but it was well executed, and has a lot more nuance than i expected on the second and third read. it also forced me to eat my old opinions of kordey, which i appreciate. cain is a bit of a blank slate, so you end up more intrigued by him than caring for his well being. but the supporting cast has characters worth caring about, and i want to see more of king billy. again, supremely decadent rockstar monarchy isn't new, but well done is always worth a look in comics.

the opening scene of the (pheaasant?) hunt cut with the assassination in the shitter is one of the better scenes i've read in comics recently. desperately want another issue.

also, digging the (admittedly overpriced) prestige format on this one. sits well on the shelf.
