Ho-hum.

Another issue that does little to excite. Whedon's dialogue and characterization is good, but it feels like this story has been going on too long - I have stopped caring what is happening as another fight sequence appears to take over much of the issue. And I don't seem to be the only one who has stopped caring - Cassady's art (particularly that godawful cover) looks at best rushed and at worse lazy. This is perhaps a little unfair since Cassidy has been suddenly confronted by a posative wealth of (well, at least 2) Planetary scripts to illustrate, and his intricate style must take a lot of time, but in comparison to his work earlier in the series and even within this work this issue looks shoddy by comparison.

You know it almost doesn't feel like Whedon's writing this at all. Perhaps he's providing script-doctoring as opposed to actual plot? It has been known to happen before...

It's as though Whedon isn't writing this?
I don't know about that. The past four issues have seemed like one drawn out Buffy episode...

I don't buy the 'Whedon is only plotting Astonishing' rumors (and there have been some) - it seems very Whedon-fingerprinted to me.

Yeah, it was just an idle thought. It's just as likely that it's his deficencies as a comic writer showing up...

Who's behind the lateness for this, is it Whedon (or 'Whedon' if you believe the rumours) or Cassady?
