So ABC's new miniseries, Empire, premiered Tuesday. I didn't get a chance to see it but was curious if it was any good for the pilot episode. Between it and HBO's upcoming series, Rome, there's a chance for one of the two (if not both) to have historically potent narratives.
The plot of HBO's Rome sounds cooler to me (two Roman soldiers returning from Gaul) than the slightly unbelievable plot of ABC's Empire (gladiator is appointed bodyguard and protector of a young Augustus Caesar). Not to mention Rome is co-produced by both HBO and the BBC.
So did anyone see Empire on Tuesday? |
