Sunday July 10th at the Engine Rooms at the bottom of Preston street. My spazzbeat freefreak collective Burning Idiot Noise will be supporting Finland's finest Krautrock/Magma obsessives Circle. Also playing will be little trophy who, I'm afraid, I know very little about.

If you haven't seen Circle before I can only say that they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. Utterly hypnotic and completely bezerk. They sing in their own made up language as well, which is just about the coolest thing ever.

We're on first and the shebang kicks off at approximately 8.00pm. It would be super to see you there.

Sounds crazy - what sort of area of ticket price are we talking about, though?

I'm fairly sure one of Hunting Lodge has seen Burning Idiot Noise and classes them as kindred spirits. Sad that I won't be able to make this.

I think the tickets are going to be in the five/six quid zone. I'll post again as soon as I find out.

Seth; I have heard the sounds of T'Lodge and will be in contact at some point about sorting a gig out in Brighton. A bit busy at the moment what with Summer and moving house and stuff but the day approacheth, fear not.

Yeah, as expected, tickets are £6/£5.00 concessions.
So, any takers?

Cool - I hope the gig goes well!

And you crazy diamonds would be silly in turn to miss the trek up to London the night before for Kosmische* to get *another* dose of Circle, plus the mighty Jean-Herve Peron from Faust, Amal Gamal et al (see my other advert... sorry! post :-) about this in Gathering) so your weekend can be a complete haze of heavy heavy Krock-inspired freak out!

Hell, given the opportunity, I'd come down to Brighton to see Circle twice in a weekend. I really regret not doing so when Guitar Wolf played in Hove (I think) the last time they were in the UK.

*I hereby declare an interest as one of the Kosmische Krewe, but I'd say this anyway.

I think I'll tag along with my SO since it's six minutes walk from my house...

Well, that was completely elite. I especially enjoyed the charasmatic Little Trophy, despite the technical issues.

The whole thing was simply fucking excellent.

Yeah, Little Trophy were like a faster, heavier Deerhoof. A good thing. Circle were Judas Priest and Can spliced together. Good to hear some proper metal vocalising. I like Burning Idiot Noise. Will play the CD to all the 'Lithers who thought they'd made the right decision by hanging around in the boring park in the stupid sun instead of coming to the gig. Dirty 'Lithers.

Glad you enjoyed it folks. It was certainly an enjoyable revelation to see that Circle had turned into a cross between Neu! and Budgie. The leather hat and studded gauntlets were a bit of a giveaway, I suppose.

Glad you had a good time anyhoo...

I missed most of Circle at our Kosmische party, so am doubly sad to have missed them in Brighton too. They always used to look like Judas Priest, so it's more of a return to form I think on their part. Some pix of them at Kosmische on Saturday can be found here on one of the K Krewe's Flickr page and another's own website.

A nice, peculiar bunch of rockers they are too.
