So I'm on this program through the University of Toronto, see...where I'm set up at Oxford for a month, from the end of July to the end of August. And I'm coming out a few weeks early, as the vast majority of my non-immediate relatives live out there.

I'm looking to maybe get together with some 'Lither folks, especially those from the Temple forums. I'm looking to put faces to names, and generally just hang out with some damn cool people.

Anybody?

Depending on the state of the Piccadilly Line, It should ber fairly easy to head into London from Heathrow for the evening....

In the old days they called it a Magick Mini Meet...

I suggest perhaps cross posting something in the Temple for a meet in London, The Plough opposite the British Museum is a popular venue. Pick a date and cajole people to come.

Holy crap, people actually replied to this. Thought the thread was dead.

I'm still alive and interested in meeting any who are similarly interested.

Quantum...Magick Mini Meet.

I'm in. Act as my wing-man as we try to organize?

...incidentally it occurs that I saw an occult book store near the British Museum, I think on either Museum or Coptic, maybe in between or somewhere near. They actually had a few books on Austin Spare. Gotta say I was surprised.

That would be Atlantis books, on the very same street as the bar Quantum was talking about up thread. Been there since the 20s, so aside from carrying books by people like Crowley and Austin Spare - they probably used to shop there themselves...

Well I'd be coming from Brighton and couldn't do it until I get paid I suspect, but in principle I'd happily be a cat-herding wingman. As Val Kilmer says to Tom Cruise at the end of Top Gun 'You can ride my tail anytime'. (Gay much?)

So yeah, pick a date and make it the Plough.

The Spare reissues are coming thick and fast at the minute. Crowely did used to shop at Atlantis, as did Kenneth Grant. Grant recounts the then propieter (Michael Houghton) trying to put him off Crowley. Perhaps he was clairvoyant and trying to save us from a universe where KG books exists and all the goth flavoured asshattery they inspire.

... so, erm, yeah, The Plough?

Sounds like a plan to me. Not this weekend perhaps, since i've got a Camarilla LARP function to attend...but any time next week or afterwards, yeah. I'm good most days after noon.

Camarilla LARP you say? Remind me to berate you with tales of terror concerning that crowd when we meet in the flesh... oh the memories...

Eh. us Canadian Camarilla folk aren't too bad.

So anyway...a date! We need to set a date!

Monday is the first, someone said the 6th, which is a Friday...

The 6th is good for me. Y'all else others? Other times? Is the 6th good for you?

Rock on, Quantum. I'm game. What time would you prefer?

Maybe around 5pm or so? Maybe a bit earlier in the day, or later (I should know by tomorrow), as I may, or may not be lured by the Mage LARP that day. Dunno what day its on yet.

Bex, if you're reading this, email me. I should have regular internet by tomorrow. London game information would also be good.

What I learned tonight:

When arranging meetings in bars you've never been to with people you've never met, exchanging photographs/physical descriptions and real names is generally helpful. Unfortunatly I only realized that when I was standing in the Plough and found myself saying: "Y'know...I have no clue how to identify anyone. Shit."

Not sure if anyone else showed up tonight. I was at the Plough at 5, but its entirely possible that I just completly missed people (I have a creeping feeling that I did).

I'll be in town on Saturday for a Cam game...and also to probably buy an overpriced top hat. Know any good hat-vendor places in the city with decent prices?

Anyway, on the 15th I'll be in town, I think. I'm go for coffee or lunch.
