I'll be a mod too if you need one. I'd hate to be a mod anywhere else, but that forum will be somewhere I'll enjoy reading quite a bit whenever I want to get away from things, so yeah, if any are still needed I'd be happy to help out.

Would you mind terribly if I put myself forward? Been around for a while and thought I ought to give something back. I hate most sport, but often wonder why, as I love almost any kind of game. Could be interesting.

I'd be into this, as someone more on the 'sport' side of games as well as not being a complete videogame ignoramus.

I tend to write little bloggy things on sporting culture as it is and am very up for discussion of this stuff, and having only just caught up with the discussion on the other thread, I believe pretty strongly that in including 'sport', the right decision has been taken.

On reflection, I'll throw my hat in here - I think the shape of the forum needs to be worked on, and I think being a mod would help to give me a motivation to do that. Otherwise, anyone mind if I join the discussion? It's our first new forum for a while and I'm interested... would like to start a "metathread" in the Forum discussing what sort of threads are in at present, should be moved, should be started and so on.

Yeah, you can't change the abstract and title in the same action - the screen doesn't allow for multiple selections in the option buttons.

If we need new moderators pronto, howsabout a one-one-one division for video, LRP and sports, in which case how about Bizunzib, Invisible_al, GGM, with Tom Tit and Lula as backup/wild cards? I'm happy to do oversight, but might be a bit stretched on the "regualr new thread" front - I've got some ideas about play, gender, that lot, but it may take a while to sit down and sort them out...

We do need new mods, I think, because four possibly isn't enough - most actions require three mods (one to propose and two to agree), which means that we could get into a bit of a state if more than one of us is away from the board for any length of time at the same time - but it's not the desperate thing that Dudley made out in his first post.

I think what happened was he edited the thread's abstract and also tried to edit the title in the same single action, without realising that they have to be two seperate proposals. So the abstract change happened, but the title one didn't because it was never proposed in the first place.

Right then you guys! I've finally got back from the flooding hell and the America trip and I'm sorting out the moderators! So now - randomly - Games and Gameplay has more moderators than it will know what to do with. Many of them are new and fresh and exciting new people. ALL of you are charged with the maintenance and janitorial work that means that everyone else can talk freely and openly, but you're also charged with trying to make Games & Gameplay into a genuinely intelligent, unique and personality-full forum - we're looking for best discussion on the web. Always remember that! Now go forth and moderate!
