Wealthy illustrators wanted for nothing!

(Moderators: I tried (albeit briefly) to find a relevant thread to put this in and then thought it better not to resurrect anything too old, but if you think this should go somewhere else please let me know. Or alternatively, I suppose you could just ignore it and let it sink dead-weight like a dirty stone in a lake? [joke!])

Hello chap(esse)s,

I say, I was wondering if anybody fancied having a bash at illustrating any of my stories? I've put it better before on this site

I'm REALLY open to styles (you can use stick men if you like, so long as people can understand what's going on), but although I'm open to artistic interpretation, I'd prefer it if you don't change the actual "story".

Unfortunately, the best I can offer in return at the moment is to put the work on my site fully credited (so try and make it is easy to put up there). Of course, if you have you're own site, you could do the same and if I ever venture into print I may include it there as well. Also, although I'm hopeless at the business side of life, I hereby swear that should anyone ever feel they want to give me money for what I do, I will share it fairly.

In respect of deadlines, I could lie and say I'm not long for this world, but I don't want to offend anyone and I half-believe in Jinx, so even though this is relatively true for all of us, I won't push my luck. I'm currently working on a new wave of stuff (I seem to do things in waves), but I'm getting impatient in my old age and want to start seeing something other than words. I mean, ever get sick of the sound of your own voice?

So anyway, what do you reckon? I know my work aint that good, especially the actual writing, but the ideas and images aren't that bad either, are they? Maybe this is just the excuse you've been waiting for to start drawing again or fiddling with one of those wonderful graphics packages, like you used to do in the olden days? Come on, you know you want to....

There's a bunch of people on Barbelith who'll probably be glad to help out, but can you tell us what formats etc you require? Then we have something we can work towards. Like, for example, you might need a 34x34 Jpeg, etc.

Also, if you tell us here on this thread exactly what subjects you want illustrating, that too would be a help.

... what formats etc you require? ...

I'll try and get hold of my friend (who's always busy, poor sod) and ask him what he recommends, and then I'll let you all know ASAP. I'd imagine you can be flexible in terms of size and proportion, etc. But my knowledge about such stuff is patchy to say the least. Kind-of a trait with me, I'm afraid.

As for your question about "subject", do you mean which story? If so, then the choice is yours. I'd even love it if there were multiple versions of different stories, drawn in different styles, etc. But I suppose, I can't afford to dream...

Anywhoo, if you're looking for a quick, bad example of my work (preferably a short, simple narrative, of sorts), there's this very short "secret story" floating around. Please be quiet though... Or he might hear you...

FYI, I just created a thread specifically to hook up artists with writers.
