Peter Millgan's latest is out, with the usual art by Salvador Larocca..."Bizarre Love Triangle," with a new character (young femme fatale) named...um...Foxx. That's right, Foxx. The characters even comment on her name in the book itself. I read it in the store, not quite sure what her power is, other than being a young femme fatale. Didn't really inspire me to buy it. She propositions Gambit a bunch of times, all the men say she's so hot but it doesn't really show in the story. Hum de dum. They refer to the aftermath of the Golgotha storyline a few times too.

I think it's almost clear that Foxx isn't telling the whole truth about who she is. She's talking to naked Remy and says something like "there are many things that my...that Rogue can't do for you." So she's got a connection to Rogue. Hmmm? "my"...what? my sister? my best friend? my daughter?

"my mutant power . . ."

I kind of liked those 1st couple of pages discussing the danger she was in while showing how dangerous she actually was.

I'm loving the fact that Emma Frost has had such a strong presence in this book. Foxx does seem like a somewhat generic cypher but it at least allows for some interesting character moments like The "Sex" therapy for Rogue & Gambit & the Iceman/Polaris/Havok dynamic.

I'm also enjoying a glimpse into the school aspect of X-man which echos some of the New X meN aspects. I wish he'd just go an adopt the special class... or what's left of it.

I'm also enjoying the overt presence of photoshop in the art.

I like the line that said "by fate, or by design...she wound up at the one place she was safe."

by design. something sticks in westchester.

I considered buying this and was struck by a fatal (for the comic's chances of purchase, at least) dose of ennui at the prospect.

Rumour is the girl's Mystique.

Check the mention of "discolouration" - it's Mystique all right.
