So, myself and the lovely lass are headed Ireland way for a wedding - in a castle and all! I realise castles aren't impressive to you European types, but as an Aussie the very concept is somewhat mindboggling. Large buildings more than a couple hundred years old? Suuure - pull the other one, it's got bells on.

Anyhow, I'll be stopping in London for what looks to be a few days, possibly more, along the way. And I've heard rumours some of you types LIVE there. So, what should I do? Is there anything a Barbelith inclined (with Temple leanings) lad must not miss? I realise there's enough tourist fodder to keep me going until the end of ages, but for the most part (despite the castle squee) I'd much rather know about the nifty things the locals think are cool. As you do.

So, er, help? Cheers!

The museums and galleries are almost all free and will rock your socks. Even locals go, they're that good.

Tate Modern if only for the Turbine Hall, there's an old Temple thread here that might be of some interest to you.

Cloghan Castles the one the reception will be at - and I'll be in UK for some time between the 26th of July and 5th of August - specific dates pending, though (and somewhat flexible, but they have to be settled shortly) as are specific locations at specific times. I think I'll be spending more time in the London area than Ireland, but really not 100% sure yet. Oooh, and thanks for the thread pointer, too!
