I’m hoping the Flash stuff is just a bit of misdirection. While this is a Crisis, and while I confidently predict that Wally will indeed be killed off or retired at some point in the next ten years, I don’t think that time is yet upon us especially with a Wally movie rumoured to be upon the way, it would just be plain foolish to kill him off now. I’ve read and enjoyed Wally’s story since primary school and in a lot of ways I relish that Wakky is perhaps the only major Superhero I’m likely to outlive by many years, I just don’t think the time is right yet. Bill Messner-Loebs and Mark Waid built Wally up, Geoff John’s has built up his enemies, this book has only just come into the height of it’s powers. If another good superhero writer can be found for it then it could stay near the top of the superhero pile for good few years yet. |
