Anyone going to this? Ariadne and I will be there so we thought we'd see who wants to meet up to create a Barb contingent for the march.

This could be a good opportunity to get the Scottish lithers together from different parts of the country, and no doubt there will be pubbing after the march as always.

Yes, I thought I would (can combine making poverty history with seeing tiny nephew hoorah - and now, it seems, meeting up with Barbeloids extra hoorah!) The only tiny misgiving I have is that I don't really know much about the G8 summit, what we're protesting against. I mean, I know in general, unequal global distribution of wealth & system cunningly set up to keep it unequal, yes? But has anyone got any handy links to more information about what's going on with this?

Or I suppose I could just go to the Switchboard and poke around there, eh.

Wellll, I think the Make Poverty History march is a slightly different beast to the actual G8 protest. As far as I can tell the Make Poverty History campaign is asking for three specific things: abolishing third world debt, an increase in foreign aid, and an increase in trade justice. Website here.

I'd like to come along, I plan to trundle around the G8 protests but basically it all depends on how much money I have in July.
