I have now rationalised some of the events of wednesday night enough to feel a bit better about myself and have self dubbed my behaviour as excusable on the basis of extreme drunkness. Partial though vague memories of a return journey have either been constructed or remembered to my satisfaction. In short I feel good enough to continue on with a life that doesn't purely consist of hiding under the duvet and groaning.

In my experience, that's usually what happens, but it's impossible to see that that's what's going to happen at the time, which is why hugglage is so important. It acts as a mechanism to help you make it to the point where you realise it's not actually so bad.

(It's occurred to me that always videoing oneself while drunk would provide much-needed reassurance when the hungover guilt kicks in.)
