Robert Sheckley, sci-fi author, is pretty much stranded in Kiev following a medical emergency. The conference that flew him in to Kiev has managed to cover his initial hospital bills, but there's more bills to come, including his repatriation to the US. If you're into sci-fi, you've probably come across Sheckley's work, which still stands out as being amongst some of the most creative and thought-provoking material produced in the last third of the 20th century.
There'a a fund-raising effort going on to pay his bills and repatriation costs. If you wish to help out, a PayPal account can be found here: Robert Sheckley Relief Drive. More background information can be found here, and on Neil Gaiman's blog (from which the previous two links were copied). |
