Pranks

Pranks are fun, eh? Ever pull a good prank? Filled an elevator up with ballons once myself. Hid a four pound pacific pink salmon in a ceiling tile. That was a good one.
Stank for months. Like pranks on me? Had all my worldy belongings carried out of my house by a determined pal. He had to make a copy of my key three months before for that one, took quite a bit of planning it did. Fucked my head good that one. sent me right off the deep end. I attacked him with a bat in a senseless fury. Got carried away, happens to me sometimes with my condition. but we had a good laugh later. Like pranks on strangers? Tons-0-fun.

Turning all the posters in a room upside-down. Was a thing. That semmed funny at the time.

No, fuck it. I was temping (up West) trapped in my beige suit, me-not-me, hating every second so much that I forgot there was anything to hate--and my soul was restored briefly by:

Someone put bubble bath in the fountains outside the Centrepoint building. White foam in summertime that I thought, for one dizzy second, to be snow.

An alien! A real live ALIEN! Some kid with his shaved head painted bright green, dressed up in bubblewrap, running up Charing Cross Road blibbering gleefully. I was the vanilla grin that got in your way; forgive me. I hadn't smiled in weeks. Remember that you meant something.

You better watch out, solomon. This is a sacred duty you have undertaken. Kick Me signs aren't going to cut it.

There will be a test.

Just noticed elswhere in another thread that some italian wrote a fake book "by" hakim bey, mocking his pretention and his fans gullibility. The alleged tranlation was favorably reviewed. Now that's hard to top.

All I got is this: May the 7th, Free Comic Book Day; my whole collection is becomeing a public transit infection. Every subway car, bus, phone booth, library, cafe, in Montreal is getting littered with comics (english comics, not french comics. You think i read Asterix or something, tabernac?) Savage Dragon, Groo, Black Panther, Captain America, Alpha Flight, Flaming Carrot, Ralph Snart...this is the least malicious prank I've pranked.

I don't like pranks. I don't have enough of a sense of humor to do them correctly. And then I pratfall. Then I cry. And then the joke's on me.

we put pink bubbles in the school fountain - all bright pink foam over the principal's courtyard - he couldn't get in his door without getting pink. wasn't happy.

we were.

someone putting vegemite along the [black] railing round the assembly area was a hoot, too. lots of once-cool kids in white shirts w/ fetching black stripe across their backs that day. and i still don't know who managed to put bubble wrap around the bell - that was a climb! i wish it were me. i loved muck up day. ahh, those were the days...

but i'm rather more like you, dj. never much good at them...

Once managed to draw a coroner-style chalk outline motif on the front uni carpark. In the middle was the outline of a splayed elephant, surrounded by human outlines apparently knocked out by the...splash. Look, it was funny while we did it, OK?

Inspired by Haus's sartorial flair, I have a fabulous prank planned for those coming round from surgery in the hospital where I work. I'm going to wear a white suit, shirt and tie, and try to convince them they've died on the operating table and this is the afterlife.

How they'll laugh!

Actually, I once knew of a rabidly anti-smoking surgeon who'd do something along vaguely similar lines with in-patients who continued to smoke (in defiance of his medical wisdom). He'd walk in with their investigation results, pull the curtains around the bed and then throw their casenotes on the floor (which always got their attention).

"You're going to die," he'd say. Then he'd pause, to allow their shock to sink in.

"... if you don't stop smoking soon."

How they sued!

The funnel prank is one of the best ever. I really have to try that one.
