Abandon hope.

There was a letter in Astonishing X-Men #9 complaining that Wolverine's eye colour is sometimes blue and sometimes brown, and he wanted to know which it was and hoped that Marvel would get it right in future.

And they dignified it with a reply.

Should people like that be banned from reading comics? Or is that what fandom is all about?

On the contrary, I think that young man's got a fine eye for detail, and should be encouraged.

They may not mean much to world-famous international artistes such as yourself, but tomorrow's 'bean-counters' have got to come from somewhere, after all.

I should also add that the young man in question admitted to being 35.

Or maybe that was the chap who wanted to marry Jean Grey.

What are the legal implications regarding Scott and Jean's wedding re: resurrections?

If you write to a Marvel letters page and include the line somewhere "I've been reading comics for 25 years and this issue caused me to weep real tears for the first time in my adult life" then I'm sure they will tell you.

Dude, you’re a published author, and yet you’re publically admitting you read the letters pages of X-Men comics? Why? And, think of your reputation! The scandal if this gets out, etc

And, why? I mean, if it was a letters page in an issue of Sandman, well, then I could understand, because Sandman's letters page was both interesting and informative.

By the way, my compliments to the letterer and colourist of your post; these guys don't get enough kudos,

Mahalo!

I read the letters pages of X-Men comics because they're more interesting than the stories.

And because I look forward to the day when geeks write me letters and I can use them to light my cigars.

You should so do that. Your next book should have a letters page at the end of it.

My next book's about a letters page. A comic letters page full of coded messages. Which activate sleeper agents. Who are fanboys who've been brainwashed. By special ink on the cover of the previous issue.

Yeah.

Dear X-Mail!

In the last issue, page 14 Nightcrawler flies the X-Jet into the Fantastic Four Plaza, thereby distracting Doc Doom from pushing an evil looking button. Since flying aircraft is illegal and unpatriotic, how come the Air Force didn´t stop him? Now, since that could not have been a mistake, here´s my explanation. As a 58 year old leader of the world´s greatest nation I had my secretary of staff cross-check the facts, and she told me, that there´s no building like that in Manhattan. So the Air Force did not intervene, and the terrorists were brought to justice. Do I get my Duh-Prize?

And could you please answer that question, that bugged many a dedicated reader in the last years concerning Jean Grey: Does the carpet match the curtains?

So until Colossus gets a US passport …

Reagarding you letter. No dub-prize for you. Regarding your Jean-Grey carpet questions: Only when she's the Dark Pheonix.
