Apologies if this is a repeat thread.. I seem to remember a similar one ages ago, but:

I'm flying to London this afternoon and to Toronto tomorrow morning. I am sick of hostels though, and decided to just stay up until my flight on Sunday.

I already have a club in mind to go to for most of the night, but just in case, can anyone reccomend any fun nocturnal activities? Any good 24 hour cafes? Fun places to be at 4am?

I think that Bar Italia is 24 hrs, not one hundred percent sure, but it certainly served me when working very late. There is also a kind of late night milkshake place in Clerkenwell, but for the life and google search of me I cannot find it. It's next door to a bar with a mans name, and it's a little bit of a post-clubbers sweating area, but they do good junk food and nice milkshakes, and they are open through the night.

Bar Italia is open all night, and so are a fair few other Soho places I think - easy everything up tottenham ct. road is an internet cafe that is open all night...

Diz-factor did this recently when he was visiting town. you might also want to go for a dawn walk along the thames if you don't have too much stuff to carry...

So, how did Berlin go? how comes you are going back to T.O.?

The name of the all-night place in Clerkenwell is called Tinseltown, 44-46 St. John St. and it's a 24-hour diner not too far from Farringdon tube station. I believe it also has internet cafe.

And yeah hey, why the return to TO?

Thanks! I'm probably going to Turnmills around the corner for most of the night, so that works well... All my bags are in Victoria, so walking around isnt a problem... A walk along the Thames at dawn sounds like a good idea too.

(There was no real work for a quasi-German speaker in Berlin, so it's back to Toronto and being a Pioneer for the summer. I should be moving to London for good by September though...woo!)

If you can make it back for early september you could make it in back in time for the musical extravaganva (and picnic) that is the proms in the park...

Yep! Last year I got to work everywhere covering lunch breaks, so I had the chance to be the blacksmith, tinsmith, printer, miller, cooper, harness maker, cabinet maker, and broom maker...

...I'm hoping to be the blacksmith at least 2 days a week this year...
