Jim Sweeney- My MS And Me

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Is anyone else listening/did anyone else listen to this?
Radio 4, now (22/4, 9ish). I heard a trailer for it and it sounded a bit, well, y'know, worthy.
It's a stand-up show by a guy with MS, all of which is one long routine explaining what his experience of MS is. And you know what? It's bloody funny. And educational (if, like me, you know little about MS).

More when it's finished. Or tomorrow.

I heard the trailer earlier today - will give it a listen from the site in a bit as Derren Brown's done now.

Page here, if anyone’s interested - I think you can do the 'listen again' thing if you succumb to RealPlayer. And it’ll probably be repeated on one of the digital channels before long, if you have one of those new magic radios.

Yes, all the things stoatie said. Damn, that was really rather good.

Very funny - especially the stuff about actors.

I thought his timing was excellent- I can imagine it would have been quite uncomfortable being in the audience, as he kept chucking the laughs in just when you think you're gonna get pathos and vive versa...

Good to see this in Barbelith. I have MS and I have to say the Jim Sweeney stand-up comedy thing at Radio 4 was spot-on in most respects and goes a long way towards demystifying the experience of living with MS in its various forms. Really enjoyed it although I was a bit skeptical at first.

And since we are on the subject: does anyone how I could download this? Cheers.

There's a shareware program called NetTransport which can download Realplayer streams in Internet Exporer - easiest way to do it is to download and install NetTransport (here, then open the "Listen again" box in IE. Right-click on the "play in standalone Real Player" option, and "Download with Nettransport" should pop up in the context menu. That's assuming you have Windows...

I've got it downloaded, if anyone wants it (it weighs in at a hefty 19.1 megabytes).
