explanation: this place was mentioned on mefi ages ago, but signups were closed. somehow i got the email of someone who runs this place and asked for membership. nothing happened. i asked again and then forgot about it. it seems that at some point it did happen, but i binned the confirm email as spam. so i never confirmed membership (which makes me wonder if i really am 5000). until now, when i did the whole "forgot your password" dance.

anyway, thanks to eric for flagging me. i'm a bit busy at the moment (at work), but will have a look round later.
