Sigils -- basic

I've read a good deal of what I can on this, but I feel that I misunderstood some things. I have created a very simple sigil for a very basic purpose, and I wish to charge it. For the purpose, I feel that some sort of sexual practice used during the number I feel is important might work, but don't know if that would be too powerful, or maybe not powerful enough.

Help?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

IMO the most important element in the sigil process is formulating one's desire, isolating it, and then consequently forgetting it. You don't have to "charge" sigils for them to work. And I don't believe the means of "charging" has any impact on whether the sigil works or not.

Trouser, that is very interesting.

I am a tentative at best Mage, and I do believe that what you say is true from my limited experience. I have written out desire statements with the intent of masturbating over the sigil I have thus constructed at some later date, only for the desire to come to fruitition without me having done anything about it

This has for the most part been for little test desires I have sent out as provers.....not major league desires of mine. I do think as you hint in your statement that because it is easier to forget little desires, because of their low emotional impact, they are easier to forget and thus more likely to come true

Major league desires I have had and sigilised have been less forthcoming, probably because the emotional want and desire is always just on the verge of my consciousness and a recurring thought

Funny this thread has come up as I have just bought a book that has had me mulling over it's contents. The book is more like a little pamphlet call IT WORKS the author being somebody called RHJ(?)

Anyway this book suggests a similar idea about statements of intent but rather than try to forget the intention, it advocates that you should read and re-read your statement, morning noon and night

It wouldn't be fair for me to go into anymore detail (not that there is much more to discuss) without the authors permission (a reviewer on Amazon goes into more specifics) but this book got me thinking

Not only might it not matter whether you charge the Sigil as long as you forget it.............. but an alternative might be the frequent repeating of the initial statement of intent (much like Emile Coue's ideas)

I don't know. The book it works does seem to suggest that much like Sigils, the use of these written and re-readingg of statements of intent, affects not only the unconscious of the practitioner but also the universe itself can be subtley affected by these techniques

Anyway, anybody interested in this pamphlet can get a copy from Amazon for next to nothing, I think it is currently listed at about $2 and the shipping is about as much

I haven't done anything with it myself yet as I am living in my parents at the moment and they think noting of reading my letters or anything I leave lying around and I don't want them reading my deepest desires out of embarrassment more than anything else

Most recently, I have had an experience more similar to the initial theme of this thread and Trouser's answer. I wrote out a Sigil and to the best of my knowledge, I didn't fire that one off or charge it or whatever and yet I found myself inextricably and from a different angle taking the first steps into achieving the aim

weird

thanks for this post and Trouser, I have learned something from your corroborating my experiences

cheers
