um, yeah, i know...
i'm thinking the wiki should be the first page you see when you log in for the first time.
you could perhaps even have a 'kingdom of loathing' style literacy test at the bottom of said wiki, the completion of which allows you access to the site proper.
people often dont read unless required to out of laziness.
put something they want behind some text and they will at least see it in full, if not read and understand it.
dunno.
i could be wrong and it could all be too much hassle to fix, but it seems to me we rely on folks making an effort.
its kinda like recycling; folks only do it on any kind of scale when the effort involved becomes almost none. |
