I got the first volume based on the online hype, and found it frankly pretty tedious. Just another reasonably well-written grim'n'gritty "update" of silver age DC comics. What if superheroes--specifically a set of JLA analogues--existed in, like, the real world? Whooo, orginal. Once I got that that was what I was reading (again), I found myself skimming. It's competent stuff--ok dialogue, decent art, etc. Still, same old same old. Next? |
