Sorry if this has been discussed before (searching yielded no results) but if one has barbelith as their homepage it would be handy to also have a phpbb-esque 'posts since last visit' link somewhere to skip browsing each forum and what not. What do you think?

I think I'm right in saying that this was cut from the current board design on purpose, the idea being to get people to check out threads that they might have passed over previously.

Hmm, fair enough, though I don't see how the option of finding new posts stops people from browsing in the same way they do now. I suppose it encourages you not to to some degree. Am I missing something?

I guess people tend to stick to popular threads - if they can see at a glance that one has received 50 new posts since their last visit, while another's only received 3, they'll tend to go for the more active thread. I really don't know, though - I'd presume that the old board software allowed Tom to check this kind of stuff out.
