So, I've been sewing a lot lately. Making cushions and bags, and at the rate I am going, I will be able to sell or swap some of these works... or at least I would like to. I have so much fabric I need to use up, and I really don't need to keep all the cushions I make, but I really want them to go to good homes...
Unfortunately, I don't have a decent working camera except for the one on my cellphone, and my computer isn't working properly so I haven't got any pictures of the ones I've made lately, but I do have a few examples to demonstrate my range (some of these are a few years old, now)
A couple made for friends:
this one I kept for me, but I have enough fabric left to make another one... And the reverse should actually be lilac in colour, but my phone has a pretty limited colour range -- I need a better camera!
Another one I kept for me, partly because it was one of the earliest I'd made, and it wasn't quite as good as it could have been (for starters, I really didn't put enough stuffing in it, so it's rather flatter now...) That shiny fabric is a gorgeous velvet -- I still have some of that left, too.
Sex Pistols cushion made from a free t-shirt I got at a gig in LA. I'm in the process of making an Iggy Pop one, too (it just needs stuffing). Anyone wants either cushion (or both), let me know and we can discuss something to swap it/them for.
I'll try somehow to borrow a camera to get pictures of the other cushions -- and the bags -- I've made and hopefully post them online somewhen...
I am happy to take requests and commissions if anyone wants anything -- all the cushions are completely unique and one-of-a-kind and I will be happy to swap or come to some arrangement. I think they make nice presents -- everyone I've ever given one to has been happy with them, I think (I've never had any complaints!)
A couple of people here have had cushions from me that some of you may have seen -- Goodness Gracious Meme has a Kabuki cushion that I made during her Japanese phase (and her old flatmate has one I made from an old glow-in-the-dark Orb t-shirt that was pretty cool). CherieBombe has a cushion with the words "cherry bomb" printed all over it. I made one out of crushed purple taffeta and faux fur for Angel's birthday a couple of years ago, and Ariadne once expressed an interest in a couple of cushions I'd made from old t-shirts and faux fur with felt applique. (If you want something like that, I can do it.)
And Vincennes, I've finished your blue and pink one! |
