Cushion creation

So, I've been sewing a lot lately. Making cushions and bags, and at the rate I am going, I will be able to sell or swap some of these works... or at least I would like to. I have so much fabric I need to use up, and I really don't need to keep all the cushions I make, but I really want them to go to good homes...

Unfortunately, I don't have a decent working camera except for the one on my cellphone, and my computer isn't working properly so I haven't got any pictures of the ones I've made lately, but I do have a few examples to demonstrate my range (some of these are a few years old, now)

A couple made for friends:

this one I kept for me, but I have enough fabric left to make another one... And the reverse should actually be lilac in colour, but my phone has a pretty limited colour range -- I need a better camera!

Another one I kept for me, partly because it was one of the earliest I'd made, and it wasn't quite as good as it could have been (for starters, I really didn't put enough stuffing in it, so it's rather flatter now...) That shiny fabric is a gorgeous velvet -- I still have some of that left, too.

Sex Pistols cushion made from a free t-shirt I got at a gig in LA. I'm in the process of making an Iggy Pop one, too (it just needs stuffing). Anyone wants either cushion (or both), let me know and we can discuss something to swap it/them for.

I'll try somehow to borrow a camera to get pictures of the other cushions -- and the bags -- I've made and hopefully post them online somewhen...

I am happy to take requests and commissions if anyone wants anything -- all the cushions are completely unique and one-of-a-kind and I will be happy to swap or come to some arrangement. I think they make nice presents -- everyone I've ever given one to has been happy with them, I think (I've never had any complaints!)

A couple of people here have had cushions from me that some of you may have seen -- Goodness Gracious Meme has a Kabuki cushion that I made during her Japanese phase (and her old flatmate has one I made from an old glow-in-the-dark Orb t-shirt that was pretty cool). CherieBombe has a cushion with the words "cherry bomb" printed all over it. I made one out of crushed purple taffeta and faux fur for Angel's birthday a couple of years ago, and Ariadne once expressed an interest in a couple of cushions I'd made from old t-shirts and faux fur with felt applique. (If you want something like that, I can do it.)

And Vincennes, I've finished your blue and pink one!

Great cushions. What you've done here really confounds expectations, innit? I mean, you expect a cushion to be pretty dull, but there's one and wow..it's brightly coloured, and there's one with sid vicious on it. This is a Good Thing.

Shame about not having a big camera, but I think here the "lots of small pictures" setup actually works well in sewing off* your work.

*yup

Glad to see the thread Anna -really like the middle two cushions, the velvet one looks lovely. And, cheers for the pink and blue cushion! Sure it'll look great in its natural habitat... (will PM about what to exchange. My best idea will probably be something I can bake)

Hey, I got PMs (which is funny cos I always forget to check if I have any...), but I thought I'd post here in case anyone else was interested in anything...?

I was thinking that people could get me DVDs in return, actually, to stop me spending so much money on them. And there are tons of things I want... so I set up a new Amazon wishlist, which you can find on Amazon UK if you do a wishlist search for "Anna J23", though apparently it won't come up for a couple of days. Once you've picked something, let me know here and I'll send off your requested cushion(s). Also, not to be too cheeky or anything, but if you're going for the cheap end of the financial scale (ie, picking the budget DVDs), then I want more than one. That's not actually being too cheeky, it's getting a decent exchange rate for my work! It seems only fair, if someone is paying £15-20 for a DVD, that everyone should pay about that -- and I think £10-20 is a reasonable rate for a cushion, don't you? (If you disagree, or if you reeeeeeaally want one but are really low on money, we can talk some other kind of terms...)

and here -- a bag I made from an old t-shirt, some felt and a wire coat-hanger (the girl who eventually got it looks a bit like the one in the picture):

She can't have it. Sorry, but I made it for someone else!

I could make her something different, though -- post up some suggestions, and I'll see what I can come up with...

Can anyone lend me a digital camera? I have a lot more things that I've done but I can't post pictures of them without having the pictures first... :]

I have a camera! So now I can post some more photos...

KILL YR BOYFRIEND

That little blue-and-pink one is the one I made for Vincennes. It's felt at the front with pink velvet ribbon. The other two are made from old t-shirts (you've seen the swirlygirly one before, upthread) and I'm loathe to give those ones up!
