P2p clients -- good ones?

So I just got myself a new PC and am in the midst of trying to swet up Kazaa -- it won't connect. Anyhow I hear Kazaa is pretty bad for spam. The last time I was online with enough bandwidth and time, I hung out at Soulseek, but I see the old Soulseek is no more. (And what's this new Soulseek that's taken its place?)

Can someone give me the urls of some good p2p networks or clients? I have extremely diverse taste in music, tv, film and so on. For instance, the first downlaods I'll be looking for will be a Devo album and Tina Turner's song "We Don't Need Another Hero" from Mad Max III: Beyond Thunderdome, followed closely by some Four Tet.

I think kazaa is also a big target for litigous music companies at the moment...

Choice of p2p networks is probably effected by the kind of system you are running - Limewire is probably worth a shot, and I quite like aquisition.

I use eMule plus. I have not encountered any problems yet. And you get even really obscure music. And not just music, but all the other stuff, too.

bittorrent is certainly THE place to go for TV and Movie downloads - its where the first episode of DR Who is available...

The old Soulseek site got taken over by some kind of evil pretend filesharing dialler client thingy. But, proper Soulseek lives on here and the most recent version has finally sorted out the rubbish search capability that has been crippling it recently.

Another vote for BitTorrent though it can be hard to find older things.

I have Emule cannot get a bloody HighID no matter what I do! I've followed every tutorial and help forum on the web and it still won't effing work.

Ares is what I use, and it's pretty good. All the downloads are dependable.
