Hairstyles of the ( Yet to be ) Rich and Famous

Alex's Grandma

Martin Amis reckons it's how you spend the average day, but I always think this is probably the single most telling and interesting fact about anyone.

I have suddenly adopted Emily the Strange's haircut.

you stole my hair

Shrug
21:08 / 27.03.05
No specific cut, grown out from shaving, greasy, can't do anything with it, hate it.... bleh.

Saint Keggers
21:32 / 27.03.05
Today my hair looks like Elvis from his beach movies days.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
22:09 / 27.03.05
Bleached and messy, just how it should be.
Although as soon as lilly has some spare time, the Bagpuss stripes shall return.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:52 / 27.03.05
Like a highway man, apparently. If I were to tie it back loosely, anyway. If I were to tie a proper pony tail, I'd look like a stereotypical IT guy.

Brrr. I need a haircut. Long hair has a terrible habit of taking over the braaaaaain...

Mazarine
03:58 / 28.03.05
A little too long at the moment. Usually it's pure shaggy, sexy, just rolled out of bed goodness, but some of the layering has grown out. Which reminds me, I shall make an appointment to let my hairdresser work her magic tomorrow.

Scrubb is on a downward spiral
04:42 / 28.03.05
Length = shaggy but sexy, flicked up at the ends when the mood takes it. Jolly Good.

Colour = Ginger/light brown with a good inch of roots that desperately need doing. Could Try Harder.

Lilly Nowhere Late
05:11 / 28.03.05
If I'd started this thread, you'd all think I was touting for business.
My own hair meanwhile, was just this week shorn in half. Now I don't have that long of hair anymore but do have much healthier, thicker locks.

Does it count if you're already rich and famous? Okay:

Spiked/swooped at the front going from small spikes at the back to a hairwave of tsunami proportions at the front. Dyed dark walnut brown. Umm, it's way too long to actually look nice at the moment tho, which is why I'm visiting the 'salon' in town at 2.

Snippy snip.

I might post pics later should a hair disaster not occur.

Nothing specific. Just long

Goodness Gracious Meme
12:25 / 28.03.05
Big. And though other ppl have been saying it looks good, it's a bit too girly to be ideal. I have a cool natural 50s flick thing tho.

Waltzing Ganainm
12:40 / 28.03.05
Straight, waist length, and overdue for it's yearly split-end removal. Mostly it gets pulled into a bun and secured with a three pronged wooden stick that could double up as an offensive weapon should I need it.

JOY NO WRY
15:21 / 28.03.05
Huge, scruffy-Jim-Morrison style curls. Its not rock-star asprirations, but rather that no matter what cut I get, it turns into this after a week of growth and a night of sleep.

Warewullf
16:29 / 28.03.05
Zero-crop, baby. And neat, stubble-beard.

charrellz
18:17 / 28.03.05
Long and getting longer everyday. It plans to destroy the world. Dyed black because my natural color is brown eventhough my facial hair is not.

My hairstyle is the same as it looked when I posted in the Photos thread. I've been cutting it myself for nearly three years now. It's a style born of my budget that happens to look good on my head. Lately I'm tiring of it but at a loss for how to change - I really think it's the world's best cut to suit my face, so where can I go from there?

Trebor
20:38 / 28.03.05
Ditto to Kapok's.

It's maybe 6 inches long, but so curly it doesn't descend over my eyes unless wet.

Tryphena Absent
07:47 / 29.03.05
My hair is half-brown, half-red at the moment, which is not a good look but I'm sick of dyeing it. In fact I'm sick of doing anything to it and that explains why it's a shoulder-blade length, wavy, split-ended mess that constantly needs a brush. It does feel soft though.

If Emily had so-long-I-can't-see asymmetrical bangs (right eye's vision compromised) and a soft, sexy mullet, she'd have stolen my hair. Au naturel light brown for now.

Kind of all over the place. When I dry it carefully, it curls in under my chin and is feathered down to my shoulders (I'm not very good at this - I can't think how better to describe it). Anyway, it got damp this morning and is twisting every which way.

Like ibis, my hair is cut by my own dear self. It looks good from the front, giving a just-out-of-bed look that sometimes even recieves compliments but, due to my inability to see round my own head, it looks like it was cut with a set-square from the sides and without constant vigilance, can often be found to be mulleting from the back. Still, it's a vast improvement from the bald patches I used to give myself when I first started doing it.

With regard to the cutting your own haircut thing, two mirrors are what's needed, one of which should be handheld, so you can see round the back. For the shorter look, a Bic razor or something is better than scissors, you don't end taking out quite such generous chunks, although too much attention to detail there can drive you to the point of insanity, so... well I go to the barbers these days, let's put it that way

I cut my own hair - well shave it to an inch or so long anyway. It's usually pretty even but if not it's not too obvious.

Spaniel
14:39 / 29.03.05
Longish, side-parted, 'cause I'm guilty of following fashion.

Needs a cut to get its shape back to full goodness.

Dyed black (pretty evencolour at the moment). Jaw-length when wet but a disagreement of curls when left alone. I stopped using the hair-straighteners last week, since which time I've been told I look like a poet, Owen Hargreaves, and Seth Cohen from the O.C.

Make of that what you will.

aaaaaaaaaaaaah.

*lights cigarette*

Short and spiky again. Less textured/asymmetrical than it's been for a while, and as a result, more straight-ahead boyish.

My sister (surprise visit by hairdresser friend=the joy) is astonished at how happy I am with my new hair.

Now to think about some colour...

I had it done yesterday. It's short-back-and-sides but going up in a gradient from the bottom to the top. The top and fringe are short spikey/messy with lines of straightened hair (thanks Toni & Guy) for a textured effect. I quite like it

Natty, chunky ginger dreads. I love them.

I have saved on 8 years of haircuts, think of the financial benefits!

Pot.
