I don't know how many of you have seen or heard Comanechi yet, but they seem to be everywhere at the moment- even NME.com are giving away free downloads of there tune Rude- but the big question is- are they any good?
To me musically they are fairly inept- I first saw them about a year ago and they looked like they were going nowhere fast- then suddenly they seemed to be on every bill with every support going- without a major label backing
i'm sure the guitars never do anything other than chug- nothing as crude as a lead break- the vocals are often out of tune and sung in with Akikos unique Japanese via Albert Square accent- but they make me smile- like a stripped down Sonic Youth as opposed to the obvious White Stripe comparison- that would seem to muso
