sorry if this sounds like pure hype/span, but it isn't. I'd like to know what people make of this once they gett their hands in it. editor Travis has overcome the delay problems caused by ComiXpress' overload of work [the same situation my book is facing] but it's out, at last:
Continuing the Variance tradition of science fiction, fantasy and horror stories, VARIANTS #1 contains three creator-owned stories by up-and-coming creators from across the globe, as well as a series of columnists from all across the pop culture spectrum:
VARIANTS #1's first story is "Marauders," a story of monsters, magic and barbarians, written by Jose Miguel Pallares with art by Miguel Angel Cacares, both from Spain.
The second story is "High and Lonesome," by creators Alex de Campi and Leonard O'Grady. De Campi, writer of the upcoming IDW title "Smoke," with art by Igor Kordey, says her story "is a Lovecraftian horror story set in outer space. As the small crew of a mammoth cargo liner become increasingly exhausted by their journey, strange things begin to happen, and they don't know any more what is hallucination and what is reality."
Also included is Johnson's "Five Before Midnight," with art by Brazilian artist Sam Hart. Johnson says "Five Before Midnight" is "the first of an apocalyptic tale I began working on fouryears ago called 'The Dark Age.'"
good people doing good stories. do yourself a favour and buy it online at ComiXpress.com.
