Man - life's weird. Years ago i helped get this comic off the ground by buying it every month, now I am rewarded with a storyline set in my city - actually with a storyline set in the very area that I work, day in, day out (Park Circus). And it concerns a bad magician working for Glasgow Planning department - something i know all about due to my own line of work (14 years in architecture, design, journalism).

And its being written by a Glaswegian - Denise Mina, crime writer and canongate babe.

Hah!

everyone who writes for canongate is a babe. canongate is a babe. might have a look, now that they've changed writers.

/He's sold the rights to another project, The Wanted, to Universal Pictures in a seven-figure deal. And his series based on the second coming of Christ, The Chosen, will be converted by a major Hollywood player this summer into a TV pilot for an American network./

Right. Is this more Millar lies?

Nevermind Denise Mina being a babe, check out Alan Grant!

Continuing the Evening Times' tradition of getting things wrong, the photo is actually of John Wagner, not Alan Grant.

Also, they seem to think that the movie is a by-the-numbers version of the story - they're claiming Constantine is from LA. Hum.

Any good? I'd like it if someone could tone down the histrionics and write a nasty little urban horror comic again. All this 'end of the world' shite, and John's old friends turning up just to become spam to be offed to up the angst is wearisome.

It's all pretty standard so far. I've read too many Hellblazer comics, you might say. Looks good though, and I'm nothing if not parochial enough to buy more comics with Glasgow locales.

Who's still reading?
The latest one's fantastic- real 28 Days Later stuff- but without folowing the current trend of having zombies in every comic ever (not that zombies are a bad thing, mind you).

Quarantined in Glasgow- and all the tobacconists have been looted. This could be Constantine's greatest challenge yet...

Yeah, the last one with Map had me all 'what?' and, actually, as much as Map is pretty much my favourite supporting character in the series, I'd serious doubts, because I thought overuse of supports killed the last run (to the point I wasn't buying Hellblazer, and I always buy Hellblazer) and belied a dearth of ideas, but we're back on what has turned out to be an overarching plot and despite the return of Carey's unloved Angie Spatchcock, I'm definitely back on. Also, there was a Londis market last ish, which is impressive.
