Well, I discovered these guys a while ago.. then I discovered them again. This second time around I fucking love them. Theyre music can be described as "classic" rock with a (pretty big) dash of old SciFi b-movies and werewolves. Im sure many of you are well aquianted with them already, but my search didnt lead to nothing.

Anyway, for those of you who are brand spanking new to The Cramps I reccomend Human Fly and I was a teenage werewolf

Elvis Fucking Christ is one hell of a song. The Cramps rock with fists of sleaze.

Ahh, The Cramps rule. Human Fly, yes indeedy. Even the later stuff's ace- Bikini Girls With Machine Guns is one of my all-time favourite songs.

I'm sure I ranted about them elsewhere on here. In college, if it wasn't by Camper Van Beethoven or by the Cramps, then I couldn't call it my favorite music.

The great thing about them... well, one of the great things... is that they're a perfect soundtrack. Play a Cramps song and whatever you're doing is suddenly imbued with *mystique*, no matter how mundane. In fact, the more mundane the action (brushing your teeth, driving home from the grocery), the grimier & more transgressive it seems when other people see you doing it and hear, like, "Don't Eat Stuff Off the Sidewalk" or "The Crusher."

Trivia: I went to college in the town where Bryan Gregory, original second guitarist, was last seen. He was working in an adult bookstore.

We never found him.

Tried to get my hands on some Camper Van Beethoven mp3`s.. but "The day that Lassie went to the moon" was pretty much all that came up.. like 100 of it.. Kinda liked it though. Any info on these guys?

Take The Skinheads Bowling. Where The Hell Is Bill?

The Creature From The Black Leather Lagoon.

The top two are classic CVB tracks, the bottom one of my fave Cramps tracks.

I think campervanbeethoven.com still has a "random" mp3 thing where you can get about a dozen or so classic mp3 tracks, if you keep hitting reload and seeing what comes up.

They used to, anyway.

There's a thread on them over here, by the way. With some audio links that may or may not work.

And just to steer back on topic,

how many guitarists do The Cramps have now?

I think their best stuff is with two guitars, no bass, but I'm not as up to date on their current configuration as I could be.

See The Cramps live if you get a chance. In fact, see them live every time you get a chance.
