I never knew him very well, but from what everyone who did know him has said, I'm sorry I didn't and I'm sorry to hear this news. As far as I know he's the first member of the board to see the great beyond. So long, Cop Killer. You will be remembered.

Damn, I was hoping this had a happy ending. 'Cuase threads like this are supposed to end well, you know?

Balls.

I was out with toksy last night and gave CK a menschy in a convo about black metal, oddly. He was fucking sound anyway, hope he's - I dunno - enjoying the supercontext or whatever it is.

The real life Fight Club thread,...

Aw, I remember that. He and DJ Oi were teasing each other good-naturedly.

I only engaged with him briefly here and there, mostly in the music forum. There was some discussion on what sort of music one should listen to while on acid. I acknowledged that he could rock harder than I could ever be capable of. I'm glad I at least had the chance to do that.

Aw fuck. Cop Killer used to be one of the regulars, and one of the guys I first remember seeing when I started posting. My eyes are all watery. Goodbye Cop Killer, I'll miss you.

I remember CK from my early days on Barbelith. Tough luck, tough loss. I wish he had gone out a different way but I'm sure he went down swinging.

I never had any contact with him, but I've read a ton of his posts, and he was a clever guy with a real fierce attitude towards life. What a shame.

Damn. I always sort of expected the shirt to arrive with a note saying, "Sorry, it's late, I've been a little a busy keeping it together." Or whatever.

Fuck the Alamo.

Jesus, I was only thinking about this thread the other day. How bollocks.

Cop Killer was before my time but I read this thread and another thread about his cancer a few months ago when I was digging through the Convo archives. It's weird, I obviously never interacted with him at all, but it still sucks. It sucks a whole lot. It seems like he was a really cool guy.

Jesus. Here's hoping that CK is involved in some sort of barefist Valhalla social club, with a Metal soundtrack.

I didn't meet Cop Killer, but even when he was being pugnacious or just plain silly, he had a lot of interesting stuff to say. His contributions to threads like this were notable for me for providing lots of information about subjects about which I knew very little in an interesting and informative way.

Christ, really. I hope his wife's as OK as possible. If anyone's in touch with her, or with Oi or his other friends in Chicago, please do give them my regards.

I didn't know him well either, at least I didn't interact with him much, but I remember peering over Punce's shoulder yarns ago and seeing his screen name pop out at me. He was one of the earliest voices on the 'lith, a big part of the excitable hubbub that finally persuaded me to sign-up and I can't quite believe he's gone.

Fuck cancer

Fucking hell.

Thanks for passing the news on, Cherielabombe.

Does anyone know how old CK was?

22 or 23, I believe. He has a MySpace page but I have no idea how to go about deciding whether that's appropriate to link to here.

Fuck. A hell of a shame. Cop Killer was always one of my favourite posters back in the olden days. He had style.

I'm playing Body Count now in tribute. Rock on, Cop Killer.

Nothing to add except that it's a real shame and a waste.

Good luck wherever you are CK.

Ah shit. He was one of the first people I remember from when I joined- there was a thread on where your ficsuit name came from, and he just posted "I'm Cop Killer. I. Kill. Cops." and I thought, "this guy's OK". And so he proved to be.

Fucking hell. Rock on, CK- I'll have a drink for you on the Day of Slayer.

Dead Megatron

Well, I never met the guy, since he's from before my time, but a dude that can make a thread called "turning cancer into lucre", while speaking about his own terminal desease would score high im my coolness-meter. Good ascending to him.

Echoing grant- Fuck the Alamo.

"And the world carries on without Cop Killer,
It's not a worse or better place,
Uglier and safer maybe,
But thats a question of personal taste."
(thank you to Carter USM)

I will be toasting a beer to CK tonight, and I think I'll listen to something he would have liked. Lordi maybe? Can anyone recommend a favourite tune for me?

I vote we all toast him on 6/6/06. I reckon he'd have been well up for Slayer Day.

Cherielabombe
18:45 / 23.05.06
He would've been up for it. In fact, his MySpace page has a comments area where his friends have been posting things like "Miss you, dude!" and sho' enuff, someone posted something like, "060606" is Slayer Day. Just so you know."
