Late shift - Saturday night

Right it's Saturday, it's late-ish and I'm at home because all my mates have gone to someone's dad's birthday and I'm too ashamed to, despite the free buffet.

Have I done wrong or should I be proud to late shift en, who's with me??????:

Papess
21:25 / 19.02.05
Well, it is a bit early too start another lateshift thread, but no problem, we can deal with it.

So, I am here. I am doing laundry, and I also can hardly believe I let my TV play on while Charmed was on. That program is irritating as fuck.

sTe
21:31 / 19.02.05
Gods bless you my fellow early late shifter

I feel your laundrey pain - have you tried ignoring it and going with the excessive deoderent route, or is that far too non-classy for the likes of you?

ps do you have T'inernet capability in the laundery? blimey I am clearly in the dark ages here

Papess

Hello sTe. Cheers to you, even though I am not touching a drop of alcohol for about the next couple of lifetimes. (Not likely, but I do need a break.)

I am afraid at this point in my blissful state of laundry-iggy, I would have to buy an entirely new wardrobe and bedsheets. It is a chore that is necessary, atm.

My "office" is right next to my washer and dryer. Right across the hall, in fact. The two can be done simutaneously, quite easily.

sTe
21:43 / 19.02.05
Well any office with optional washer and dryer capability has got to be a selling point. Unless it's the laundrette-o-met office I suppose.

Other than the whole washing business, what's floating your weekend boat? I've gone for the early visit to the pub, followed by the walking home in shame and deciding on more beer option. Which for many reasons is not great, but I'm not claiming to be perfect, who is?

And no-one in this town
Is makin' any noise
But the dogs
And the Late Shift
And me

Did the work thing (during daylight. That's SO wrong), did the unexpected bumping into Bill Posters and having a pint thing, now I'm doing the sitting at home and chilling with some beers and grass so I can face doing the daylight work thing again tomorrow (thankfully, I think it'll be the last time ever... the normal "working at night" thing will apply again in a couple of days' time).

Is Rose McGowan still on Charmed? I hate to admit it, but I have a major crush on her. BUT to my credit, I've only ever watched it once, despite that. It was too shit even for unattainable lust.

Papess
21:58 / 19.02.05
I had to google Rose, Stoats. Honestly, I didn't see her, but I wasn't really paying attention. That show is so cheesy I think it clogged my arteries.

sTe
22:01 / 19.02.05
mmmm... cheese

not too sure that shannon doherty is good cheese, but however there's always future cheese which is hope personified, or something like that

What's a wrong with a day a time working?

I heard Mario loves it

Papess
22:03 / 19.02.05
not too sure th

Just how drunk are you, sTe? Was that a posting accident?

That's a love for cheese, that is. To run off and get some, or run off to the cheese thread, without even finishing the syllable, let alone the word, you're saying.

I'm just about to start watching Kingdom Hospital on my tiny portable DVD player. Is it worth the effort?

(I explained my purchase of this to a friend this morning while I was still bedazzled by being at work during the day, and thus lost for words... "It was in Shop. It was Some, instead of Lots. So I bought it. You know, Thing. Was on telly a while back. Not the Dansih one. Thing.")

Papess

That cheese thread just makes me hungry. Now this thread is making me hungry too.

sTe
22:18 / 19.02.05
So long as it's not animal hospital it's probably worth a go.

Stephen King is usually a bit of allrighty

Bum. Looks like I'm not gonna watch it after all. The tiny battery in the tiny remote for my tiny portable DVD player (which has few, though tiny, on-board controls) appears to have run out. Tinily, probably.
And I'm buggered if I know where you can get those tiny-ass batteries from. Not at half twelve, anyway.
Bum.
(GodDAMN the propersized DVD in my computer which is fucked. GodDAMN it!!!)

Ah well. Some grass, some beer, some comics and some Late Shift. Sounds okay to me.

sTe
22:34 / 19.02.05
well there's always the grass-beet spinning out combination to be fearful of, in a movie stylie.

Or cheese

or just cigs n beer to keep you going. Which is nice, sort of

sTe
22:35 / 19.02.05
did I say beet?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
22:38 / 19.02.05
And the beet goes on...

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

To be honest, a grass/beer KNOCKout combo would be fine. I have to work in the morning (not till 11:30, true, but given my sleeping patterns the last few days, a 6-hour coma would totally beat- or beet- an attempt at a night's sleep). Watching episodes of a TV series would just keep me going with that "just one more" thing...

I need my wits about me tomorrow, anyway. I need to find a place that sells those tinyass batteries...

sTe
22:50 / 19.02.05
How's about some slightly larger batteries and a bit of tin foil work around? no beeting neccesary unless you like that kind of thing?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

A bit (beet?) tricky...

amyway, I'm suddenly hammered.

Goodnight, all.

night Stoatie, sleep well and may you dream of happy sprakly things being nice to one and all

While I consider my ill thought plans for world domination (haven't we all?)

sTe

Frill to your hearts content, plus a free beet for every lucky winner

just don't call the splelling and we'll all get along fine

Howdy shifters. Currently watching 'Don't tell Mom the babysitter's dead' while my girlfriend sleeps on the sofa. I always wanted to see this movie. Isn't that sad?

Christina Applegate's in it. She doesn't age she? Like Heather Locklear. Bathing in human blood I'd say. David Duchovny just turned up as a yuppie wanker. It's OK.

sTe
00:01 / 20.02.05
You're living the dream! How can that be sad?

Although you may live to regret it, that ice-cream van moment is a cheeseter in all senses of the word (except edible cheese, which makes no sense of all senses... bah! watch the damn movie, you'll regret it, maybe not today etc)

Have been trying to find a nice button moon picture to post, not for any particular reason, but can't find any on a where I can view it on a single page, how do I copy a picture and post it? without serious research in the ol' Policy forum?

Christina Applegate used to make me feel funny when she was in 'Married with CHILDREN'. Just so...trashy. i loved that show. Don't know if it holds up, but it was pretty ahead of it's time.

Ah I did look at that first, I'm not totally lazy pig dog hoe. However the page with the images I like so much contains many such fantastical dreamlike pics which cannot be clicked and I would particularly like to draw my late-shifting companion's and early morninger's attetions to one. Can I somehow copy an image and insert it into a message without the web master-ness to put on it's own page?

Anyone want to be C's space hopper? or is that just wrong?

married with children? no still no idea. I have this feeling that popular culture may be passing me by.

right-clicking on the image in question will give you its location, no?

Ugh. Film has dissolved into a woefully hamfisted morality tale about accepting responsibility and most importantly GETTING A HAIRCUT. Ahh the 80's. Xtina looks good though.

Temple - 'Married with Children' was a proto-Simpsons sitcom, about the Bundy's - a disfunctional white trash suburban family who hate each other. Al Bundy was a hero for our times, and the opening credits sequence where a despondant Al sits, joylessly dispensing cash to his various family members (including the dog) is a joy. Favourite ongoing joke - that Al would prefer anything than sleeping with Peg, his wife.
