Recently, a friend and I had a run in with a huge-ass male deer with an impressive display of antlers. It was obvious to me that the deer was some kind of omen. Bear with me as I delve into the details:
My first official sigil ("official" because I've come to realize that I've been sigilizing for years and years now in the form of writing poetry and fiction. In fact, I didn't decide to look into magick until I realized, "shit, I'm already a magician...") was a couple weeks ago and had/has to do with a business venture that myself and two friends are about to embark on.
After charging the sigil, I decided to bike down to the house that my two friends share, and drop the paper in the alley that runs behind it, and forget about it. The exact spot where I dropped it became a spot where two coincidences have occurred since, synchronicities that would've blown my mind, if it wasn't already blown.
The first was simple enough. It was during a very violent thuderstorm, on the very night I dropped the sheet of paper. One friend and I were walking towards the house, and the third happened to be walking towards us. The timing worked out such that we met at the afore mentioned spot in the alley. There was a strange group feeling as we stood and watched the lightening for a time. (None of my friends know about the sigil.) I took this as a good sign of coming together.
The second coincidence involved the deer. Two of us had just eaten a couple grams of sacred mushrooms and wandering down the alley to a spot where we could kick the hacky-sack and wait for the magical fruit to kick in. As we neared the spot in the alley I was wondering if anything strange would happen this time. After all, we were on shrooms, and it was the night of a new moon, which has always felt a little different to me than other nights. Anyway, as I was thinking all that, my friend stopped suddenly, and I, who had just been looking at the ground in contemplation, got a chill up my spine. And there was the deer, about fifty feet in front of us and looking straight at us. We and the deer stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, but was probably only a few seconds, then he turned and trotted off.
So, is there anyone with ideas about how I might interpret the sign? Anyone with knowledge of what certain animals symbolize or that sort of thing? Any other comments or sugestions? Snide or otherwise? |
