Ok, maybe this should be in the Creation forum, I don't know. But anyway, I'm writing this screenplay for the next X-Men movie (please don't get excited, I'm not actually affiliated with the official filmmakers or anything, it's just a writing exercise, although I'll admit to a little optimistic delusion!) and need mutant characters to populate the background doing stuff which will look really cool on the screen.

I particularly need them to be helping build a massive underground facility a la caverns of Isengard in Lord Of The Rings. Plus, I need some of them to be fighting alongside the X-men at some point, was thinking people like Cannonball, Mirage, Karma etc. But primarily I need those with powers with a very practical, constructive nature.

Of course, I could just make superpowers up myself, but I wanted to continue the films' assiduous tradition of featuring characters from the comics with a view to developing them further later on (Iceman, Colossus etc.).

So, X-Men X-Perts Assemble! (sorry I've been bombarded by tabloids at work all week) and many many thanks.

Thanks for your ideas - Jack Denfeld my fine friend, I've put Forge in already!

I just love the little clues the movies have been giving, all the way back to Kitty Pryde running right Professor X's closed door.

Please keep 'em coming!

Skin is probably the best mutant ever. He's like a bubble tape man, but for flesh!

the morlocks, mutants who live in the sewers (ostensibly in NYC but with tunnels that go all the way to westchester...) often join forces with the x-men and live underground, but they have been utterly wiped out on numerous occasions...

I'd get a CG version of the Stepford Cuckoos on screen pronto. They were a hit on NXM, and the only real students to be carried over into the post-Morrison world. Speaking in unison, looking hot, and being eerie is easily done.

All them Gen X kids have cool powers and kickass creepy looks. Skin pulls his skin, Husk pulls her skin off, and Chamber still has a hole where his skin was pulled off. And Synch has the choice to be like any one of them.

Plus Synch is black, Skin is hispanic, Chamber's a limey, and Husk is white trash! Yes, that's right. The United Colors of Benneton.

Madrox the Multiple Man.

You could even shoehorn in a steamy love story between him and all of the Stepford Cuckoos as they all get sweaty, hefting heavy equipment around this underground installation and stuff.

And Sax? He asked for MUTANT characters. I think you'll find... Crimson Gem of Cytorakk!!!! HELLO!!!!

Gambit is one of Claremont's latter day ass-scrapings. There's no call for him or his accent.

You're quite right Meludreen, Juggernaut is no mutant. However ... I've already got him in, and not as a minor distraction.

While I'm at it, here's who I've already got - Xavier, Wolverine, Juggernaut, Cyclops, Storm (but played by Rosario Dawson or someone this time, pleeeeease?), Nightcrawler, Colossus, Shadowcat, Beast, Rogue, Iceman, Angel, Pyro, Sabretooth (but he may be dumped cos he's been inadequately depicted already), Toad (ditto), Moira MacTaggart, Magneto, Mystique and ... hmm, no I'm not going to tell you. An extra bun and cheek-kiss if you guess correctly, though!

If it's not a "strictly mutants" thing, then I have to say... oh, go on, put Dazzler in. Or Power Pack.

Hey, lay off Power Pack, bitch.

Did someone already mention the Morlocks? If not, plug 'em in, plug 'em in. Marrow was a Morlock. But it occurs to me that despite being a completely worthless character, Maggot and his two, uh, maggots would be ideal for carving underground tunnels. I think. I can count on one hand how many times I've seen him in action, and not even my hand, but like one from a flipper baby.

Can you say what the context in which the mutants would be creating an underground complex? Is this a "Days of Future Past" or "Age of Apocalypse"-type scenario?

Go check out the post I made in the "Film & TV" forum in the thread about X3. I had a dream in which I got to watch the first minute of X3. If you make that come to pass I'd get the biggest kick out of it you can imagine.

Thanks slash, I'll have a look. My idea for the story came from a dream too, although I dreamt the end, rather than the beginning.

If somebody else has dreamt the middle, by the way, let us know then it saves me the work!

I've been flipping through some old Marvel Universe Handbook comics and I'm thinking of crowbarring in Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, partly for their cool powers but mainly to drive a jealousy wedge between Magneto and Mystique and facilitating a betrayal pinch. Wodge ya reckon?

I dreamt the end of "The Village" and then found out that I was right. Does that count? Even if it was shit?
