Well, what is the definition of monster? Does it have to be evil? Does it have to be dangerous? Does is have to be supernatural?
I would probably say that angels aren't monsters, but demons are, but it' really more of a gut feeling.

To me it's all a bit too confusing, which is why i like the word 'creature' better. It's a little more neutral.

I guess angels are of Lawful Good alignment, while demons are Chaotic Evil. They probably have roughly the same hit points, though.

Monsters eat people. That's the distinction between a monster and an fugly. Angels don't eat people, and as soon as a fallen angel starts to eat a human they get demoted to monster status.

The cookie monster is an exception because he doesn't eat people anymore.

I think "monster" may be actually have the characteristics of prejudice among interdimensional beings. I think it just lumps a lot of beings into the same category, and are so labelled "monster" because of the xenophobic tendencies the human has, even amongst each other. Using the term "monster" is prejudice and derogatory. It is saying that those who are different will be made examples of what is not normal, and not okay. It is a word used to alienate those that deviate from "humaness".

Technically speaking, irregardless of alignment, everything that isn't a PC is a "monster".
