It's been confirmed!

In regards to 'Evil Dead 4 Raimi says, "There will be an Evil Dead 4, and there will ALSO be an Evil Dead Remake. The remake will be produced by Ghost House pictures, (his company with Tapert) and it will star a new cast and a completely new director. The point of Ghost House is that we want to bring new directors (like Takashi Shimizu of "the Grudge" to Hollywood and give them a chnace to make a good horror film."

So....how long until people get in line for it?

I'm in line for it now. My favorite movie series is getting a sequel, even when they always said there'd never be one? Woo-hoo!

Ooh!
I'd heard about the remake, but not the ED4 part!
Cool as fuck!

I've been in line since about five minutes after I got out of "Army of Darkness."
All critical thought has left the building.
This will be the Greatest. Thing. Ever.

However, Raimi will be directing and producing Evil Dead 4, which will star Bruce Campbell as ASH and will also have many of the actors from the previous Evil Dead movies.

That's so cool. On a related note has any one read Bruce Campbell's autobiography? I saw it in the shop and nearly bought it but I'd like to know if it's actually any good.

It's awesome. I have a signed copy (with my real name and "happy birthday" in it, no less) which Baz Auckland and helmschmied gave me for my birthday one year.

It's very, very funny, is the main thing about it. And (I know he wrote it, so he's obviously kind of biased) he comes across as such a nice guy, too. The whole section on the making of Evil Dead is worth the price of admission on its own.

I would wholeheartedly recommend that you all buy it. Now. (Anyone who doesn't know, it's called "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor").

Cheers Stoatie. I thought it would be good, so next time I'm in Waterstones I'll pick it up.

Fuck yeah on Evil Dead 4, but I'm a bit so-so when it comes to the remake. It's by a different director and I'm not sure that it'll have Bruce Campbell as Ash. I mean, an Evil Dead without Bruce Campbell?

The Evil Dead remake will apparently be without any character by the name of 'Ash' because of Bruce's wishes.

And yeah, I've read his book. If Chins Could Kill is great... I've got to buy a copy, one day. He's also got another book coming out this year ("Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way").

...and there's no guarantee Campbell will be in Evil Dead 4. He's already stated that he's "just too damn old for this shit."

Naahh. Your're thinking of Danny Glover in every Leathal Weapon movie.

I read him quoted in (I think) SFX, where he said fairly categorically that he wasn't gonna be in it, but that he pities the bastard who is.
