Writing a copyright disclaimer for a roleplay forum

I am helping out a friend with trying to word a copyright disclaimer for a collaborative storytelling roleplay forum, one of those trek themed things, and wants to know how he should word this thing. So far we've got

(c) 2005 all posts are copyright of their respective authors

would this be sufficient to protect the rights of the author? I know zero about digital publishing rites...

thanks in advance for any enlightenment you can give me.

Copyright disclaimers are meaningless and unnecessary. Copyright resides in all works as soon as they are publshed or even written. As long as you include the names of the authors you're covered by international law.
I'm sure you could ask Flying Buffalo how they did it, though. I always loved that game. I'm sure you did, too.

If you have a way of recording when something was written, and haven't specifically said 'I disown the copyright of this work', then I'm pretty sure you own that piece of work by default.

I suppose a copyright notice is just a way of saying 'Please don't steal this'
