My job: I sit in front of a computer and tell it to run simulations of particles running into each other at high velocities. It gives me a string of numbers that I graph, make some more calculations, and so on... Or it doesn't work and I bang my head against the table.

And... I'm in college. A physics and math major, junior year with a philosophy class and a lab rumoured to be hellish.

So how do I incorporate magic into these things? Any ideas?

Or maybe I should have asked a different question. What if I were a construction worker, a waiter, a ballet dancer, or a speech writer? I think a more general question would be more interesting in this case.

Invoke spirits of knowledge, maybe?

Do some sort of magic-processing work on yer brain?

I'm not really looking to use magic to help my work so much as looking to use my work to practise magic.

Considering that I'm using magical tools (computers) less than a undred feet away from a giant "Foucalt's pendulum," working with symbols (math language, computer language, physics language), it only seems appropriate.

What do you mean by "magic processing work on your brain?"

doing work to adopt qualities of information processors in your brain.

Then again, shuffling symbols around might be interesting.

People use pendulums in divination... and in hypnotism.
