I designed this club as a place for members whose profile ranking is 3000 or higher (registered January 2004 or later) to call their own. If that describes you, then come on in and pour yourself a glass of wine. Here, you can feel free to post, threadrot, or just lurk about without anyone calling you out for being a "newbie".

That's right, none of those old Stiffly Stiffersons will be mean to you here!! We're always open, and you're always welcome to step on in and lounge around.

\

(Okay, this really exists because a. I still fell like a newbie here, and b. I think that I might have scared a new member off earlier tonight and I feel a bit bad about it.)

I want to be an honorary member. I will wear jeans and trainers in the Hildebrandt Room and ignore the signs about ladies not entering the Ogilvy Bar after the 9pm watershed. I promise to put my feet on the furniture in the library and set fire to the Butler's Cat at Easter.

Pleeeease can I join this ghostly and empty club for people exactly not like me? Come on, it'll be fun!

Good to get away from one's old ball-and-chain, what?

No, no, no! There should be chains everywhere. And saddles. And...

Ahem.

I say, chaps, they've got some dashed nice armchairs here. Not quite sure about that coffee table. And what's this in the drinks cabinet - Tesco Value Vodka?

You cannot fool me, 'Nesh. You are not by the fire. That's you on the small occasional table.

You have me bang-to-rights, Mordant. I'm doing my step-aerobics.

Well whilst you're up there, Dr G, anyway, you might as well give that chap in the corner a really bloody good hosing-down.

Usually I´m a bit suspicious of clubs (having been a baby seal in my last life), but I´ll give it a try.

So, how´s the weather? It´s been snowing pretty heavily here, this afternoon. Might I have some of those of those squid chips, please? Hm, tasty...

The sky has been most dramatic over the last few days - well, in my head anyway.

Saw a star lit, full moonish, whispy clouded night sky, and then a huge thick cloud just blazed past in double time, and I felt all small and happy.

What's my user number, I'm not sure how to find it?

You're #4422, Benny. Place your cursor over your name (or anyone else's) and read the status bar (the thing at the bottom of your browser that shows the URL.)

Or alternately, click the name of the person in question and look at the URL. For instance, your profile is located at http://www.barbelith.com/profile/4422

Thank you. Wow, 4422. I feel like I should be coming up with some conveluted explaination about how 4422 is something to do with 23, but can't be asked, I just want to warm me'self by the fire, and then I'll be on me way.

Oh, dear. It seems that this fine establishment has been overrun by intruders and undesirables. Benny, Mistofelees, I nominate the two of you to be in charge of security. Show these men out.

I'm only kidding. You old timers are welcome here anytime you want. All I ask is that you follow the rules and be nice to the newcomers. Come, have a seat in this victorian armchair. We're all watching the local sporting event, and what a most exciting match of pulgistic skill and daring-do it is turning out to be.

Ha ha, I badly need a haircut, and am looking a little bit like Vic in that pic post my shower this evening.

Desperately trying to remember the catch phrase associated with those characters...

Also, desperately trying to remember the name of the car hire company that became Euro Dollar for a short while in the early 90's (holler Euro-dollar)

At 848 I feel positively ancient. Is there a Barbelith pension for us old timers? Will someone get me my shawl, it feels drafty in here, and my bones are aching. Young man, will you give me a seat near the fire? There's a dear. Now what about a nice cup of . . .

NEWBIE BLOOD!

Seriously! This is the kids table! You old timers don't remember what it's like to be a Newbie! Once we discover our own identities and feelings of self-worth, then you guys can join the party. We'll let you know when we're ready. Until then we're going to talk about Blue and the Lizzie McGuire Movie. I bet you guys are still into the Spice Girls, right? That's like soooooooo 1996! LOL! PZXXRTYZLM!!!!@!

Get with the program! Like, whatever!

I believe I beat you by some way, young Keggers. I'm getting a telegram from King Tom soon.

I haven't posted much recently, so can I be an honorary newbie, please? My hair's flicking out a bit today, so I'd fit in your lounge scene quite well.

Wicca? The Lizzie McGuire movie? Good heavens me, this is hardly what I had in mind at all.

But if you want to talk about plotting the downfall of the elder barbeloids... Step into the back room with me, young Copey. I shall show you the battle plans that I have drawn up.

If we take out Head Shop, then Barbelith is ours!

(Ariadne- sure, you can be an honorary newbie. Why, you can be our inside man! Just make sure that none of the old men come wise to our plans, eh?)

19:12 / 26.01.05
Ah, the Head Shop! See, all the newbies tend to start by overthrowing the Temple, which hasn't worked out, thus far.

Oh, hey look! I am 707. So, I'll just sit over with Keggers and we will drink wine and laugh at you n00bs.

Copey, see now that kind of behavior is only attention seeking.

Oh look at me, I have an extention of my penis in my hand and I am NOT wanking with it, fuck off, fuck you! I am going to penetrate one of you with it, you MUTHAFUCKRZ!... and then you go and shoot Apoo.

*shakes head*

A while ago me and UnTaMeD made up this hella story about a club where Bagu The Bear broke in and it was just like this only with Bagu The Bear:

No, Bagu will not be resized to 500...

Uh, unless one of the nig players on here wants it, in which case go ahead. *whimper*

This seems achingly familiar... would the maitre'd be an Nth dimensional horror that goes by "Rodney, the Barthing" by any chance?
