I thought I'd start a thread for people crossing the void who need help nameing entities they've met
I might start a thread in the laboratory for people who need help naming scientists they've met. I was in the library the other day and I saw this guy studying superstring theory, he was wearing a brown jumper and had horn rimmed glasses and auburn hair. I was thinking of calling him "Peter Wilkinson". What do you guys think? Do you think this might be a good name for him? It sounds kind of right, but I'm not so sure?
Talk to the entity and ask it what it's called! Communicate with it. Engage with it. If you didn't have time to ask it's name on first contact, go back and look for it again. Try to befriend it, see what it's about, ask what it wants, try and build a relationship. Why are you asking people on a message board to help you name something instead of just following up on the experience and letting the entity's name, attributes and agenda emerge naturally out of the work? Why not give it some time and space to reveal these things to you in it's own time, rather than just making something up in a way that's totally unconnected with the experience? |
