Hi guys, I've been reading Google news lately and with certain events coming up over and over again and some of those being certainly iconic in terms of how seared they are on the public consciousness (or in the case of how many adverts, books, tv specials, movies and the like will be made about them). I was wondering if we could take certain events, people or places and turn them into a tarot deck. One use of this deck would be it's complete attunement to the year 2005 [and the swing end of 2004] possibly making it more accurate. Or at least more relevant.
So far I have these. Straight from the headlines to your brain.
The Natural Disaster
Creating room for massive change and growth. The sweeping tide.
Reverse: Impersonal Nature. Irreversible devastation. Loss of life. The world of natural order overcoming the world of human order. Lack of warning.
The Occupation
Maintaining order and stability in the face of total chaos. A tireless vigil without end.
Reverse: Creating conflict without end. Stalemate. Futile burning of resources. Intrusion where one is not wanted. Sowing the seeds of strife.
The Aid Effort
Compassion of the global community. Helping others. Philanthropy in mass groups. Growth out of destruction.
Reverse: Selective charity. Giving only to some and not to all. Highlighting compassion not shared in the past. Exploitation of the media.
The Election
Change. Toppling a corrupt throne.
Reverse: Futility. New boss, same as the old boss. The ignorance and misdirection of your fellows. Crowning the Deceitful King.
Pointless? Worth exploring? Any nouns that would make really good and relevant cards? Zuh? |
