In hopes that there would be some sort of, oh, I dunno... reasonable discussion or at least fairly weighted exploration, I tuned into this episode of what I can only assume was The Bill: 2525 where everyone had spiky hairdos and shiny future-clothes and all the evils in this futuristic society were, of course, due to the legalisation of drugs.
I guess I'm just disappointed, and also somewhat unimpressed with the lack of propagandistic skill involved here. Every statement by "experts" that was in any way positive about drug legalisation was juxtaposed with images of the horrors legalisation would cause. (Like grannies shooting up heroin...)
Hard-Bitten Cop Character, on legalisation - "Politicians call it progress. They should admit it was just defeat."
Feh.
Did anyone else see this? |
