I seem to be back. Which is nice. I have a secret hope that some people might be pleased that I am back - well, not so secret, I suppose - so I have started this thread for their convenience (and for the convienience of other posters: in creating a handy one-stop shop for all your Deva love, I hope to stop threadrotting ejaculations of joy from bursting out all over the Head Shop and Books fora).

If, on the other hand, you are sad or angry that I am back, may I ask you to utilize the handy 'ignore' button? Or, if you feel the need to express this sadness and/or anger, to keep it to PMs to other posters who you have reason to believe feel the same? Or, of course, there are also the 'headsick/rage' and 'miserable' threads.

Gah. Sorry. Hard to find the right tone, because after a certain point self-mocking just becomes self-aggrandizing again... But I am pleased to be back and I wanted to start a thread to mark the occasion - firstly because it feels like an occasion, and secondly because it's probably marginally better than just being secretly miffed that no-one was going "Deva! You're back!" when I posted in Books or the Head Shop.

I was thinking it, honest. But then I haven't been around loads over the past couple of weeks, and worried that if I said: "Deva! You're back!" you might have thought: "But I haven't been anywhere, particularly," and then considered that I was an arse.

Still. You're back. Where have you been, anyway? Buying frilly dresses at Harvey Nicks? Having a pedicure? Getting married and baking cakes? Stalking John McCririck?

Books and Headshop, the forbidden forums. Or at least places where threadrotting ejaculations are frowned upon and nobody wants frowning because it causes wrinkles in the foreheads of the beautiful people, such as yourself. I think that secretly everyone wants ejaculations, it's just that no one ever volunteers to wipe them off of Derrida and Harry Potter and that just makes things wrong.

Of course we're glad you're back. Of course, in a certain sense you weren't really gone, the ripples of your presence here not faded just yet. Don't underestimate yourself yet, not until you can see the whites of their eyes.

And hello to all you lovely people, as well. As for where I've been: nowhere very bad, nowhere very fun, but I got so busy and stressed that I sort of had to go on a life allergy diet, where for a few weeks I did nothing but finish thesis/recover from thesis, then I added in 'job to make money for food and rent', then I added in 'leaving the house for pleasure' and 'seeing all the RL friends that cooked for me and looked after me while I was going mad with thesis', then 'reading books that are not by Ruth Rendell or related to my thesis', and I've only just got to 'interacting with the lovely online people' again. (Next I hope to get to 'writing fiction', which I really miss.)

And in return... well, I'm sure someone's posted this already, but I've been away! So I don't know!
