BBC debate Christians vs Jerry Springer

There's an interesting debate going on over at the BBC website - the gist seems to be that in showing the Jerry Springer Opera the BBC risks offending certain Christain minded individuals. Okay, so there may be something offensive, but why is this different from any other programme containing sexual content or bad language or violence?

Why are Christians in particular feeling so aggreived by this?

Does the complaint that 'other faiths or minorit religions wouldn't be ignored by the BBC, so why should we' smack of racism or self-pity on the part of the Christian complainers?

Here's a link to the site;

Jerry, Jerry etc...

For the record I haven't seen the Opera, so not sure if there is a direct attack on Christainity within it, can anyone answer this?

I have watched the Jerry Springer Opera, it was an intelligent and critical look at the Christian Religion, told in a hilarious, and if misinterpreted a blashphemous way.
Perhaps these people are getting so annoyed because they feel that their religion is being threatened, and they just don't want to think about it's sexist, racist,and homophobic aspects.
I don't think that a few swear words, and Jesus running round in a nappy is the real problem that the complainers have with this show, it's the idea that they might have to think about their faith rather than following it blindly.
