A new gig for the New Year - the Drones Club V with S/T, Naked Goat and ... Zali. (Saturday 8 January, 2005)

Well, it's that time of year again - bloody January, when the cumulative hangovers of the last few weeks (months?) all add up into a big noise in the head.. So the Drones Club has invited psychedelic weirdos S/T (www.get-happy-records.com) from Germany to come and play the musical equivalent of a bald man ranting strangely about the ambient temperature while said hangover gets ready to rumble for you all in Stoke Newington on the first Saturday night after New Year. Plus local oddballs Naked Goat, and the inauthentic drones of Zali (from www.iotacism.com) who plays Raga Jalfrezi.

You will all be fools for ever if you miss it! Especially you, Stoatie!

Obviously the bit about Spring will be a bit early, but there's nothing quite like a warm crackly fire at this time or year.

Well, itwas one of the best Drones Clubs ever, Zali was droney in an inauthentically ragaish style, Naked Goat were nothing if not entertaining, and S/T rocked the house for at least 2 hours plus, with much dancing and cavorting. Unfortunately The Eye is also now closed down thanks to either odd ideas of turning it into flats (one story) or the imposition of a live music tax which makes keeping it open untenable. Time will tell.

Anyhow, and staggeringly great night, and a suitable close to the Drones Club at The Eye for now. We will find a new venue before long, hopefully.

That sign was not as unfortunate as you may have been led to believe, I think. Thanks to those who did come out. Was lovely to see pretty Anna and GB and MD(tho only for a moment). Where next for the Drones Club? Where next?
