Generally, when a substance is outlawed, the result is that the prices go up, the purity goes down, related crime goes way up, the taxes you could have gained from regulated sale is lost and anyone with an accicental overdose cannot go to the hospital out of fear of being arrested.
In the end, the only people benefiting from prohibition are politicians who rant about the 'drug menace', and people seeking a career in the DEA.
And finally, IT'S NOT THEIR BUSINESS. I am perfectly capable of deciding what drugs I take, it's an invasion of my privacy for them to try to say what I can and can not take. And should a person not be able to control his/her drug use, then legalizing it will only make it easier for them to get help.
But, like I said, since when did logic have anything to do with it. |
