Hey, is anyone going to be in Barcelona over the festives? Adjective Nouns can't make London this year--if you're in town or know someone else cool who is, do tell. It might be fun to hook up. I mean, if you like hanging out with aging Goths. No accounting for taste, eh?

Well, yes. A posse of us will be based in the left-hand Eixample from 1-5 Jan (we thought we'd avoid the crowds), so ageing goths get to meet more ageing ex-goths. Yay! We're all Barca virgins so it might be nice to get our bearings from someone. Importantly, we have a ton of veggies and one hardcore vegan with us, so it might be good to find somewhere he can eat quite quickly after arrival. Me? Bring on the raw meat tapas, but you know how it is...

Vegan, hmmm? BCN is not the most veegie-friendly city. I( fell of the veg wagon earlier this year and started eating fish.) However, I can recommend Juicy Jones which is veg/vegan and pretty central.

Where are you guys flying into? Barcelona or Girona airport?

Other than JJ, there's some good eating to be had in Gracia--loads of North African restauraunts serving both meat and veg dishes. I'm sure your friend could find something to suit. Falafels are vegan, right?

I would just like to say that I wish I was visiting Barcelona for the festive period, especially as you and Lurid are such fine and wonderful hosts, and Barcelona such a fine and wonderful city, but sadly, no. But Merry Christmas!!!

Just crashing the thread to say the same thing to the Adjective Nouns - Compliments of the Season to both of you aging goths! (And isn't it high time you came back to dear old Blighty?)

Prolly not back for another three months or so, unfortunately. I want to finish my plastering/tiling/pebbledashing course first.

Thanks for your advice. I will now be able to impress my friends and become unofficial tour guide. Not sure if that's a good thing, but heck, someone has to. I know what my lot can be like without direction. Any meetings we arrange with you, please allow for 45 minutes lateness. I always have to.

OK, so meety-plan-ness? I reckon the 2nd might be good. We should have all spent a day getting over the flight and doing a couple of tourist things. When are youse free?

2nd is fine for me. Where do you want to meet? The Cafe Zuric in Placa Catalunya is the usual venue for this sort of thing, since it's easy to find.

Blimey, you're right, it's number one on the Rough Guide map. OK, what time? I'll be taking my mobile for texting purposes want me to PM you the number?

I got back from possibly the best holiday I've had in yonks last night and have been aseleep for nearly 24 hours.
Caught up with Mme C after much running around and quaffed copiously with a large bunch of people in a bar with a toilet that apparently gave half the party the serious boak. Gosh, drinking is cheap in Barca. Viva Catalunya!
Muchas gracias to the Carnival. She'll tell you if we were all arseholes or not. I can't remember.

No, you were lovely. We, however, were loud, boorish British drunks in a foreign country so I thought I ought to check.
