Since no one has posted about this, I guess I will have to make the Barb' aware of it (provided, of course, that the reason no one has posted isn't simply because everybody knows, oh well).
Apparently someone has been floating the ideas of renaming the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge after Emperor Norton I, President of the United States and Protector of Mexico.
Unfortunately, some rather boring individuals are putting their heels down.
With the almighty power of the Barbelith Community, I'm sure we could beat some sense into these people.
Anyway, I'm composing some letters, since I don't really have anything better to do. And it could be really cool if Norton I got his own bridge.
P.s. I've found that, as I dug around for some persuading arguments, that Norton really has done some things worth honoring, so it's not just all fun. |
