The mental plane is normally understood as the realm of Air. However, here it lies in the sphere of Fire. Investigation into this will reveal deeper insights on the nature of intelligence itself and its place in creation. For it is the fire of Prometheus that burns here, illuminating the darkness with sense and granting power over the world from its use.
Here the order enforced in Gebura is given sense in the material world. Law is in place for a reason. In Hod is that reason both understood and created. Here is the sequence of cause and effect identified and manipulated, science creating new marvels by learning the fundamental rules which govern reality through careful observation. But in Hod is not the rules themselves, so much as the grasping and application of them.
"The map is not the territory," as we are frequently reminded. But it is in Hod that the map is drawn and read from. Here are things given names, and names used to manipulate the named. The power of language is the power of Magick. The course that energy must follow to change the world is defined here.
Qlippoth: Lack of order, everything happens at once, there are no rules or reasons for anything. No science, no physics, no sense. Data without understanding, leaves blown in the wind. Chaos.
